BARRE INTENSITY

The Barre Intensity Method combines attributes of Pilates, dance and function fitness training. We incorporate small isolated movement to fatigue the muscles, large range of motion to elevate the heart rate and sequencing that incorporates upper and lower body to make every minute count. This results in a total body workout that leaves you mentally strong and feeling accomplished. Upbeat music and high energy provide the fuel needed for not only an intense workout but also a fun one!
POP PILATES
Where Strength Meets Flexibility.
POP Pilates is an incredible fusion of ab-chiseling and total body defining moves choreographed to upbeat pop music. This intense, mat-based workout challenges students to rhythmically flow from one exercise to the next, developing a rock solid core while leaving no muscle untouched. This format takes classical Pilates to the next level.

Hi there and thank you for visiting Lauren Shaffer Fitness! My name is Lauren and I am a wife, mom to two children, a personal fitness trainer and group fitness instructor instructing in person and virtual classes.
My passion for fitness started at the Eastern Illinois University Recreation Center back in 2004. After attending classes regularly, I became hooked on the energy of group fitness and the positivity shared by all.
Soon after, I certified with the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) for Primary Group Fitness. I took a few years off while working a full-time job and having my children, but I always knew I would come back to the group fitness room.
Over the years I have certified in several group exercise formats including MixxedFit, POP Pilates, American Barre Technique, Barre Intensity, Balletone and Classical Pilates Education. In 2021, I also certified with the International Sports Sciences Association as a Personal Trainer.
After the birth on my daughter, I noticed the harsh effects that my high-impact formats were playing on my body. I started taking more low-impact formats and started to see the differences in my posture and how my body felt rejuvenated yet stronger with each workout.
Exercise should be a celebration of what your body can do. I believe it should be fun, challenging and leave you wanting more. I personally have seen the amazing results of low-impact formats and provide barre and Pilates-inspired classes to promote a lifelong active lifestyle.
My goal for you is that you always leave class feeling more empowered and confident than when you started and that you come back wanting more!
